This is the makeup routine I reach for when I want to feel extra soft and cozy, something simple, with just a hint of color, like I’ve been out in the garden or spent the morning baking. It’s perfect for everyday cottagecore life, whether I’m going to the library, heading to the market, or just staying home with tea and a book.

The goal isn’t to cover everything up, it’s to bring out the softness that’s already there. Glowy skin, rosy cheeks, fluttery lashes… nothing too heavy or bold. Here’s the full breakdown if you want to try it for yourself.

Step 1: Tinted Moisturizer or BB/CC Cream

I like starting with something really light, just to even out my skin tone a bit. Tinted moisturizers and BB creams are perfect for this, nothing too matte or full coverage, just a dewy little boost.

Step 2: Creamy Concealer

For days when I need a bit more brightness under the eyes or around my nose, I dab on a creamy concealer. I always use my finger to blend it in so it melts right into my skin.

Step 3: Cream Blush (Peach, Rose, or Berry)

This might be my favorite part. Cream blush gives that sweet, flushed look like you’ve been out in the cold or picking berries. I use my fingers again and blend it right into the apples of my cheeks, sometimes a little on the bridge of my nose too.

Step 4: Soft Eyeshadow

I love earthy or floral tones for eyeshadow, nothing too sparkly or dark. Just soft browns, golds, or mauves swept across the lid. Sometimes I’ll skip eyeshadow altogether, but when I use it, I keep it light and dreamy.

Step 5: Brow Gel or Pomade

My brows usually just get brushed up with a tinted brow gel. I don’t shape them too much, just enough to give them a little fluff and keep them in place.

Step 6: Tinted Lip Balm or Sheer Lipstick

For lips, I stick with something super soft, a tinted balm or a sheer lipstick in a berry or rose shade. It’s just enough color to feel put-together, without looking like I tried too hard.

Step 7: Floral or Herbal Setting Spray

At the end, I like to spritz a floral or herbal mist to set everything and give it a fresh finish. Something with rose or lavender makes it feel like a treat. Bonus: it smells lovely and makes the whole routine feel even more special.

This is the look I do when I want to feel like the cottagecore version of myself. It’s soft, wearable, and feels like me, just a little more glowy. You can find the checklist version of this routine on my Pinterest, and feel free to pin or share if you love it too!
