If I could wrap up comfort in a little box and send it to someone who needs a pause… this is what I’d tuck inside.

Just simple, soft things that say, you’re allowed to slow down now.

A bag of herbal tea
Preferably something with chamomile, mint, or rose petals. The kind that steams gently in your favorite mug while the rest of the world quiets down.

A handwritten recipe
Probably one of my go-to comforts, maybe lavender shortbread or blueberry muffins. Folded and slightly smudged from the kitchen, like all the best ones are.

A tiny beeswax candle
Because soft light changes everything. A flickering corner of calm.

A short poem or quote that feels like a hug
Maybe something by Mary Oliver. Or something I scribbled down myself in a sleepy moment that felt true.

A little jar of honey
Golden, slow, the way sweetness should be. Maybe even paired with a scone if I could sneak one in without it crumbling to bits.

A scrap of something handmade
A bookmark, a crochet square, or a little card with a stitched heart, just something touched by hand and time.

A swatch of soft fabric
Something cozy and comforting, maybe a square of linen or cotton with a pretty floral print. The kind of texture that makes you think of home, warm laundry, and freshly made beds.

A Dried Wildflower Bunch Tied with Twine

Just three or four little stems…queen anne’s lace, yarrow, chamomile. Simple and fragile, but carried with love.

This is your reminder that gentle things still exist and you deserve to receive them.

If I could, I’d hand it to you myself, and maybe we’d sit on the porch with tea and say nothing at all.

What would you tuck into a care package for someone you love?
