September is almost over, and lately I’ve been noticing all the small signs of summer slipping away.
This month doesn’t rush us into the next season, it hangs around in warm afternoons, green trees, open windows, and tomatoes that are still ripening.
October will be here soon, and I’m looking forward to it. But I don’t want to hurry September along just because it’s almost gone.
So I wrote a little poem for these last few days of it. I hope you get one more open-window evening, one more warm afternoon, and a little time to enjoy September before we say goodbye.
